In this 3-day workshop students will learn a variety of quick and simple techniques for creating slab vessels such as plates, bowls and cups. We will then create exciting surfaces on our vessels with sgraffito, inlay, stencil resist and other underglaze decoration techniques.
Nicole Gugliotti (she/her) is a socially engaged artist making work that intersects craft and reproductive justice. She completed her MFA at the University of Florida and her BFA at Florida Atlantic University. She has exhibited solo exhibitions at the Alexander Brest Gallery in Jacksonville, FL, The Institute of Ceramic Studies at The Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Shigaraki, Japan and the Tim Salen Gallery in St. Petersburg, FL. She was raised under the hot Florida sun, is currently based in Olympia, WA and a professor of art at Tacoma Community College.
