The Cannon Beach Arts Association & Gallery is proud to announce our “Coastal Expressions Exhibition!” September 8 to October 1, 2023. This show will feature works by Scott P. Vaughan, Friedrich Steenbock, Debbie Tracey, and T. Frick.
This exhibition features costal landscapes that lend themselves to impressionistic and abstract interpretations. Artists may opt to convey how the coast feels rather than how it precisely appears. Using vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes, they capture the coast’s essence, evoking the viewer’s emotions and memories.
The iconic seascapes of the Oregon coast, namely Cannon Beach with its Haystack Rock rising majestically from the ocean, have been a perennial favorite among artists seeking to convey the grandeur of the coastal landscape. From the crashing waves against rocky cliffs to the gentle sway of seagrass in the ocean breeze, the viewer will be captivated by this exhibition.
