After a two-year hiatus, the annual Oktoberfest held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church
in Seaside is returning for its third year on September 24, 2022, from 5PM to 8PM.
All are welcome to enjoy the event which is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Women’s Ministry, along with a grant from the City of Seaside Tourism Advisory Committee which is funded through room tax dollars.
A full authentic German meal of Bratwurst, Schweinbebraten with Sauersosse (sliced roast pork with mustard gravy), Spaetzle, Gurkensalat (cucumber-dill salad with sour cream dressing), Sauerkraut, Rotkohl (sweet and sour cabbage) and Strudel is included in the price of admission. Beer, wine and German pretzels will be available for purchase.
Musical entertainment will be sure to have toes tapping and dancing from polkas and waltzes to Der Ententanz – the chicken dance.
Local musicians, Two Squeezers and a Geezer, will be making a grand return fresh from their gig at the famed Mt. Angel Oktoberfest where they have entertained the crowds for many years. Astorians Coreen Bergholm on accordion, Ken Presthus on euphonium and harmonica and Gearhart resident Nancy Word on accordion have also played at many other Scandinavian and German festival events over the last 20 plus years, including Astoria’s Scandinavian Festival.
Oktoberfest will be located at 120 Oceanway in Seaside on September 24, 2022, from 5PM to 8PM. Parking is available in the downtown parking lot located across the street.
