Free Concert! Don & The Quixotes host a surf guitar party on Sunday, August 20th in Cannon Beach’s downtown city park.
Get your board waxed and ready to rip because Portland’s premiere instrumental 1960’s-style surf guitar band is coming to boogie in Cannon Beach.
Heralded for their twangy chops and fun loving stage show, Don & The Quixotes surf the wave of beloved guitar tunes inspired by the likes of Dick Dale, the Ventures and more.
The Quixotes promise to dress up, get the party started, entertain the troops, get bodies moving, make references to 17th-century literature, and leave Cannon Beach smiling.
“Many bands these days employ the trappings of surf music to evoke a trendy, lackadaisical aesthetic,” gushed the Portland Mercury, “but Don and the Quixotes are one of the rare gems that actually walk the walk.”
This free, family friendly concert begins at 5:00PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, low-backed chairs and fully stocked picnic baskets.
The park is located in downtown Cannon Beach, northeast of the Chamber of Commerce at 2nd & Spruce.
The concert is produced by the Tolovana Arts Colony and made possible by a Community Grant from the City of Cannon Beach.
