Tillamook County gets hacked
The Tillamook County government’s computers were hacked on Wednesday. The cyber attack took down the county’s internal computer systems, along with phones, email and the county’s website.
Sheriff’s Office phones and email were affected, though the ability to respond to law enforcement calls was not hampered by the attack.
Tillamook County Emergency Communications District’s dispatch and 911 services appeared unaffected.
County officials are coordinating with law enforcement and have hired computer forensics and legal experts to assist in the investigation. The FBI has also been notified.
Tillamook County Health Department was open, although they were unable to access electronic medical records. The county said personal health information was protected, there is no indication that the personal information of employees or residents has been accessed or misused.
