Valerie Blessley has twice been nominated for Finlandia Foundation Performer of the Year, and was first runner-up in 2007. She performs on harp, kanteles and woodwinds in her duo, Revontuli with Jennifer Pratt-Walter. They have been playing together since 1995 and have several recordings. In December 2016, Celtic Muse were the featured performers for the 100 year celebration at the Nordic Center at Pacific Lutheran University.
She looks forward to introducing people to the kantele every chance she gets, and owns instruments in 5, 10, 11, 29, 36 (koti kantele) and 39 strings (concert kantele).
