Nominations are being accepted for Historic Preservation Award
In observance of National Historic Preservation Month, nominations are now being accepted for the 35th Annual Dr. Harvey Awards.
Announcement:
The City of Astoria is seeking nominations now through Friday, April 1, 2022 for the 35th Annual Dr. Harvey Award, presented each May in observance of National Historic Preservation Month. The Dr. Harvey Award recognizes significant historic preservation projects that contribute to the preservation and architectural heritage in Astoria.
Citizens are encouraged to nominate a project or property owner who has made outstanding efforts to preserve historic buildings (work must have been completed within the last two years). Nomination forms can be downloaded from the City’s website, or picked up at City Hall, 1095 Duane St. Click here to download a copy of the nomination form.
The Historic Landmarks Commission will review the nominations and determine winners based on the contributions of the project to the architectural and historical character to Astoria.
Completed nominations may be emailed to comdevadmin@astoria.or.us, or mailed to/dropped off at City Hall, Community Development Dept., 1095 Duane St, Astoria, OR 97103. Awards will be formally presented at the City Council meeting on May 2, 2022. For more information, call (503) 338-5183.
