Cultural community event celebrating the richness of a vibrant, multifaceted, multiethnic group of people, as well as their contributions to our society in order to help recognize the community as an important part of the American fabric. Our celebration event is to recognize and honor Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month. It is a way to honor our culture, history and achievements. The event will be at the Sunset Recreation Center (also known as Broadway Middle School) in Seaside.  This event will include a variety of cultural performances, workshops, and demonstrations, free food for everyone in attendance, music, and local community resources/organizations.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, an annual celebration of the history and culture of the U.S. Latino and Spanish-speaking communities. Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month lasts from September 15 to October 15 every year and coincides with the Independence Day celebrations of several Latin American nations. It is a time to recognize and honor the contributions, diversity, and achievements of the American Latino community in various fields and sectors such as Rita Moreno, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sandra Cisneros, Frida Kahlo, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, astronaut and former director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center Ellen Ochoa, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Mario Molina (for his work in ozone depletion), Civil Rights Activists Dolores Huerta and Cesar Chavez and Latina trans activist Sylvia Rivera.
