Zee Is Waiting for His Safe Place
Zee is a 1½-year-old male American Pit Bull Terrier mix who weighs 67 pounds and has been with us at South Pacific County Humane Society for about 40 days. He came to our shelter after being transferred from an overcrowded, high-intake shelter where his chances of finding a home were uncertain. Thanks to that second chance, Zee is now waiting for the family who will finally give him the safe, loving home he deserves.
With his sturdy build and handsome “tough-guy” looks, Zee might seem intimidating at first glance — but spend even a few minutes with him and you’ll quickly discover what a gentle, tender-hearted dog he really is.
At his core, Zee is a sensitive soul who simply wants a safe place to relax and be loved. Busy, noisy environments can feel overwhelming for him, especially with lots of activity or young children around. Because of that, Zee would likely do best in a calm, low-traffic adult home where he can feel secure and take things at his own pace. In the right setting, his sweet personality truly shines.
Once he’s comfortable, Zee’s playful side comes out. He loves tossing around toys, chasing a ball, and spending quiet time hanging out with the people he trusts. He’s a medium-energy dog who enjoys leisurely walks and is very polite on leash, happily exploring the world at a relaxed pace. Just as much as he enjoys a stroll, though, he’s perfectly content simply being near his people.
Zee appears to be dog-friendly, so if you already have a canine companion at home, the shelter can arrange a meet-and-greet.
