North Coast Symphonic Band Goes into “Overture Overdrive” at its February 1st Concert.
The North Coast Symphonic Band (NCSB) presents a diverse program of music comprised entirely of symphonic overtures at 2:00pm Sunday, February 1st 2026 at the Liberty Theatre. The band is conducted by Terry Dahlgren of Warrenton, Oregon.
Dahlgren explained, “The trumpets and horns herald Franz von Suppe’s triumphant Light Cavalry Overture; the woodwinds warm your soul with Warren Barker’s Broadway Showstoppers – Overture; and the percussion will move your feet to Duroje Gwamna’s Dreamer’s Overture.” The concert promises an afternoon of music that ranges from powerful and high energy to slow and lush, but is always joyful, according to Dahlgren. NCSB Board President Brian Bergman will be the concert’s emcee.
A local brass quintet will perform concert prelude music from 1:30pm to 1:55pm while the audience gathers.
Admission is free for high school students. Middle school students and younger are also admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Regular admission is $15 in advance; $20 the day of the concert.
