In this one-day workshop, students will explore the art of nerikomi by combining pigmented clays with naturally colored clay bodies to create layered compositions within slabs. Through cutting, stacking, and arranging colored clay, participants will develop bold patterns and visual movement embedded directly into the material itself.
These custom slabs will then be formed into functional mugs, allowing the pattern to wrap seamlessly around the form. The focus will be on thoughtful composition, clean construction, and showcasing the inherent beauty of colored clay.
