Musical Storytime is a hands-on free outreach program for preschoolers. The program will be held Wednesday, November 12th at 10:30am at the Seaside Library Community Room in Seaside. This free program will feature a live percussion accompaniment by North Oregon Coast Symphony musician Carol Shepherd. The story Tanka Tanka Skunk, is a tale of best friends, an elephant and skunk, who beat out the name of their various friends with drums. With colorful illustrations and repetitive rhythms preschoolers will love to participate in this fun story. After hearing the story children can experiment with playing their own rhythms on provided percussion instruments.
The free readings for children ages 2 to 5 are planned monthly in partnership between The North Oregon Coast Symphony, North Tillamook Library in Manzanita, Seaside Library, and Astoria Library. For more information, visit the symphony’s website at www.nocsymphony.org.
