Giraffes Can’t Dance! This delightful story by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees is the focus of the North Oregon Coast Symphony’s May Musical Storytime outreach program. This is a free hands-on activity for preschoolers. The story time will be Thursday, May 22nd at 10:00am in the McTavish Room at the Liberty Theatre. The outreach program, for children ages 2 to 5, will feature live accompaniment by flute, percussion, and brass players.
Giraffes Can’t Dance is a joyful tale about finding your own rhythm, inspiration, and confidence. With vibrant illustrations and captivating rhythm, children will be swaying, stomping, and smiling from start to finish.
After the reading each musician will explain a bit more about their respective instrument and demonstrate playing them. Then children will have the opportunity to play some different instruments.
These events are planned monthly in partnership between North Oregon Coast Symphony, North Tillamook Library and Astoria
