Crippen Creek Farm in Skamokawa, WA is excited to present an evening with the Luca Benedetti Trio from Brooklyn, NY. Electric guitarist Benedetti is one of NYC’s most in-demand sidemen and will be accompanied by the outstanding rhythm section of Tony Scherr (Electric Bass) and Tony Mason (Drums). Together, the group has recorded two albums of original material, “We’ll Get There” (2019) and “Ride Awhile” (2023), and is excited to bring their unique instrumental explorations of folk, blues, jazz and rock to a new audience. The Crippen Creek house concert will close out the trio’s first West Coast tour which includes dates in Berkeley, Seattle, Portland and Vancouver for the International Jazz Festival.
Luca is also a close friend and oft-collaborator with Don and Kitty’s son Dave Speranza, an extraordinarily gifted bassist also based in Brooklyn. Luca and Dave were both featured on the widely acclaimed album by Jim Campilongo & Honeyfingers, “Last Night, This Morning” which was hailed as “…a brilliant record with magic and artistry” by Vintage Guitar Magazine.
The concert is “pay what you can” with a suggested minimum donation of $20 per person. Your generosity and contributions in supporting live music will be very much appreciated.
The band would like to extend their gratitude to Don and Kitty for hosting them in their beautiful home.
