In this hands-on workshop, students will build a thoughtfully designed ceramic jewelry case using slab construction techniques. The focus will be on creating a functional piece with multiple compartments to organize rings, earrings, and small treasures, while maintaining a cohesive, elegant form.
The class will explore ways to introduce flowing lines and soft curves into the structure, transforming a simple organizer into a dynamic, sculptural object. Time will also be dedicated to underglaze application, allowing for personalized color and surface design.
Students will leave class with their jewelry cases ready for drying and firing; finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
