Talmadge Doyle is a Eugene based artist who is having her first show at Astoria’s Riversea Gallery opening February 14th. She will also be teaching a class as a visiting artist at Pier 11 Studio. This coincides with her show themed with the Fisher Poet’s Gathering in mind.
Chine Colle is a technique using Asian papers with wheat paste to simultaneously print and paste the cotton base sheet of paper with Gampi paper on the etching press. We will begin with drypoint, drawing directly into plexiglass plates using a drypoint tool to create line, texture and value.
We will combine Chine Colle with drypoint to add another layer of depth and interest.
This is a fast paced workshop where participants are encouraged to bring drawing ideas to experiment with. Many examples of drypoint and chine colle prints will be shown as examples to show the range of possibilities for these simple but versatile techniques.
Experience is welcome but not needed. All levels will be challenged.
More information on the class can be found at pier11studio.com
