Bring a classic favorite to life in this hands-on workshop where students will design and build their very own ceramic chia pet. The class will include demonstrations of coil and pinch techniques to help you sculpt an animal of your choice, focusing on building strong forms with plenty of character. Students will learn how to texture and score the surface so the finished pieces function just like traditional commercial chia pets. Finished sculptures will be fired to bisque temperature to allow water absorption and healthy seed growth. Each participant will also receive a starter pack of chia seeds to get growing at home.
Students will leave class with their pieces ready for firing; finished chia pets will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
