Tillamook Chapter of HCAO Hosts Universal Health Plan Booth at 2026 Tillamook Fair
TILLAMOOK, Ore. — The Tillamook Chapter of Health Care for All Oregon (HCAO) will host a community information booth at the 2026 Tillamook County Fair, August 5th–8th, at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds (4603 3rd St., Tillamook). The booth will offer easy-to-understand information about Oregon’s proposed Universal Health Plan, to be submitted to the Legislature in September 2026.
HCAO is a statewide, nonpartisan coalition working to expand access to affordable, high-quality health care for all Oregonians. The Tillamook Chapter’s booth will give fairgoers the chance to ask questions, pick up brochures, and learn how Oregon’s Universal Health Plan could affect families, workers, and small businesses across the North Coast.
The Universal Health Plan Governance Board (UHPGB), appointed by the Oregon Legislature, is developing a comprehensive plan that would cover every Oregon resident, eliminate deductibles and co-pays at the point of care, expand primary care and behavioral health, and include dental and vision coverage as part of a whole-person health approach. The Board is scheduled to submit its final recommendation to the Legislature by September 15th, 2026.
HCAO’s booth will:
• Explain how the plan would work for everyday Oregonians.
• Distribute a four-page brochure summarizing benefits, costs, and common questions.
• Provide a contact sheet for Tillamook County’s state legislators and Governor’s office, so residents can share their views when the plan reaches the Legislature.
• Invite fairgoers to sign up for updates and volunteer opportunities.
“We want people to know what this plan is, what it promises, and how it could help,” said a representative from the Tillamook Chapter of HCAO. “After they understand the bill, we want them to help make sure the Legislature acts on it.”
The Tillamook County Fair runs August 5th–8th, 10:00am to 10:00pm daily. Admission is available at the gate or online at tillamookfair.com. The HCAO booth will be staffed throughout fair hours; volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and provide materials.
