THE HIKE ON MONDAY, AUGUST 3RD IS CANCELLED
Sunday – Sticks and Stones: Meet at 11:00am at Beard’s Hollow for a 1-mile-long hike following a fallen tree on its journey from the forest to the sea, as it completely reshapes land and water at every stop along the way!
Monday – Quilted Rainforest: Meet at 11:00am at Coastal Loop Trail for a 1.5-mile journey through a coastal rainforest where you’ll learn all about how patches of habitat form the mosaic-like ecosystem of our forests.
Tuesday – Shipwrecks to Safe Passage: Meet at 11:00am at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center to join a ranger on a 1.2-mile hike to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse and discover along the way how 200 years has changed the deadliest bar crossing in the world.
Saturday and Monday’s Hike: Coastal Loop Trail is located in the gravel lot across from the park office. The park office is currently located in the Cape D Store. The parking lot for the trailhead is currently closed due to construction, but you can park in the park office parking lot which is right next door. Sunday’s Hike: Beard’s Hollow is located at the northern end of the park, near the Beard’s Hollow Overlook area. Signage for the parking lot reads “Beard’s Hollow Turn Left/Right” depending on approach direction. Coordinates: (46.30421904721402, -124.06335548535992)
Saturday – Fog Forest Hike: Meet at 11:00am at Coastal Loop Trail for a moderate 1.5-mile hike and learn how old growth forests help support a healthy atmosphere.
Tuesday’s Hike: The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is located at the southern end of the park. Continue to drive straight, passing the park office, the road will eventually end in a parking lot. This is the parking area for the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. There is a paved trail on the right-hand side of the parking lot that will take you up to the Interpretive Center.
