THE EVENING PROGRAMS ON AUGUST 1ST AND 2ND ARE CANCELLED
Join a ranger for an evening of fun, suspense, whimsy, and learning at one of our many programs at the Benson Beach Amphitheater. The Benson Beach Amphitheater is located in Loop A of the Cape Disappointment Campground, just down the path by the restrooms. Please note, the Benson Beach Amphitheater is not same as the Waikiki Beach Amphitheater. The Waikiki Beach Amphitheater is where our summer concert series is held. Evening ranger programs are only held at Benson Beach Amphitheater.
Friday’s Program: “Naked in the Woods” – In 1913, a Boston newspaper reporter removed all his clothes, walked into the Maine woods, and made history. What happened to him and what does this have to do with the Long Beach Peninsula?
Saturday’s Program (Only on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month): “Who’s Coming to Dinner?” – Experience nature’s finest four-course meal, whale fall! We’ll dive into the depths and follow the (after)life of a whale from fish to table as it becomes the centerpiece of a deep ocean dinner party.
Sunday’s Program: “10 Essentials of Lewis and Clark” – Learn about the 10 outdoor essentials of today and what Lewis and Clark carried on their journey 200 years ago!
Monday’s Program: “Disappointing Trivia!” – Join in a battle of knowledge and trivia against other guests. Three rounds of varying topics hosted by a ranger with prizes!
