This spring, the Seaside Public Library invites the community to take part in One Book, One Coast, a shared reading initiative connecting more than 130 library systems across California, Oregon, and Washington.
As the largest book club on the West Coast, One Book, One Coast brings readers together around one book to create opportunities for conversation, reflection, and meaningful connection across neighborhoods, cities, and state lines. The Seaside Public Library and its partners will read and discuss “They Called Us Enemy” by George Takei, Steven Scott, and Justin Eisinger, and illustrated by Harmony Becker.
The library has multiple copies of the book available to borrow. Unlimited digital copies of the eBook will be available from April 1 – June 6 through our digital platform. And thanks to the generous support of the Seaside Library Friends & Foundation, 25 copies of the book are available to the community free of charge to take, read, share, and then keep or return to the library for other members of the community to enjoy.
The Seaside Public Library will offer a book discussion opportunity on Friday, April 17th at 2:00pm in the Community Room designed to bring community members together in conversation.
