Learn how to use an etching press to paint! Some monotype and/or other printmaking experience is helpful but not required. Add this on to the Gyotaku for added fun!

Otherwise known as a transfer painting, monotype is a fun and easy way to pull prints with or without a press. We will be using Akua Non toxic soy and honey-based inks, which clean up with soap and water. Use various mark-making tools like brushes and brayers, manipulating the ink to get unique layers.

Jane Pagliarulo, a co-founder of Atelier Meridian in Portland and expert in printmaking, offers workshops in monotype, etching, woodcut, and collagraph. She performs contract printing of editions and assists artists with monotype sessions.
