SUMMARY:Monotype: The Painterly Print
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use an etching press to paint! Some monotype and/o
 r other printmaking experience is helpful but not required. Add this on to
  the Gyotaku for added fun!\nOtherwise known as a transfer painting\, mono
 type is a fun and easy way to pull prints with or without a press. We will
  be using Akua Non toxic soy and honey-based inks\, which clean up with so
 ap and water. Use various mark-making tools like brushes and brayers\, man
 ipulating the ink to get unique layers.\nJane Pagliarulo\, a co-founder of
  Atelier Meridian in Portland and expert in printmaking\, offers workshops
  in monotype\, etching\, woodcut\, and collagraph. She performs contract p
 rinting of editions and assists artists with monotype sessions.
