Station Manager
Hi, I am Mari Bergeron, station manager. I grew up in Clatsop County, going to grade school in Warrenton and high school at Knappa. I volunteered with KMUN a little in its early days, and I always thought it was pretty amazing that we had our own homegrown radio station. My mom loved the morning classics, and my sister grew up listening to bedtime stories. I sneaked bits of music here and there. I moved away for college, then had a career on the east coast. Recently I felt Astoria calling me back, and then I learned that KMUN was looking for a new station manager. It was a dream come true, and I still pinch myself. Community radio informs, entertains, teaches, and brings people together in a beautiful way. I love the creativity of putting all the pieces together and making it work. Outside the station I might be making pottery, tending a garden, foraging, or just enjoying the incredible beauty of the area I have come home to. My personal soundtrack is heavy on the blues, but I am always happy to learn about genres and artists that are new to me
