Port hires interim director Will Isom as permanent ED
by Joanne Rideout
The Port of Astoria’s leadership took a step toward more stability yesterday, when the commission offered the permanent job of executive director to its acting Director, Will Isom. The commission met for their regular meeting Tuesday and voted unanimously to offer the job to Isom, after discussing the glowing performance review he’d received when he was evaluated this fall.
Isom will meet with the commission this month to determine salary and other issues.
He took over as interim director for the port when the previous director, Jim Knight, resigned in June. Isom had previously been the port’s finance director.
