One of Canada’s most highly-acclaimed piano players joins forces with one of the USA’s most celebrated guitarists for an album release show. The new recording, from Cordova Bay Records, is called CrissCross. Here’s why:

David Vest, winner of six Maple Blues Awards (and five Muddy Awards), is a Canadian blues legend who was born in the USA (Alabama).

Terry Robb, winner of 19 consecutive Muddy Awards, and a member of the Oregon Music Hall of Fame, has long lived in Portland, Oregon but was born in Vancouver, BC.

Both artists have seen solo albums hit Number One on various blues and roots charts. And both have bios as long as a bus ticket to Clarksdale.

David Vest is highly regarded as one of our great Boogie Woogie piano players. A prolific songwriter, David is also well admired for his knowledge and original playing of Country and Jazz. Either as a soloist or as an accompanist, David Vest is the real deal. Vest has appeared with Big Joe Turner, Bo Diddley, Carey Bell, Jimmy T99 Nelson, Red Foley, Slim Pickens, and Faron Young, to name a few. His songs have been covered by artists ranging from Tammy Wynette to Downchild.

Terry Robb is hailed as a Blues virtuoso and one of the finest acoustic guitarists on the international scene. Incorporating elements from Delta blues, Ragtime, Country Swing and Jazz, Robb has built a unique Blues sound that has earned him acclaim from worldwide audiences, esteemed music critics and his distinguished peers. Robb has produced and played with John Fahey and has worked with Maria Muldaur, Eddie “Clearwater” Vincent, Bo Diddley, Joe Cocker, Johnny Winter, among others. He appeared with Curtis Salgado and Steve Miller on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien.”.

Seeing Vest and Robb together is like having the whole history of the blues come alive in front of you!
