You’re invited to “Sharing Our Hearts,” an open house at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, the oldest Presbyterian church west of the Rockies. We will be sharing and educating about heart disease, the number one killer of women and men.
Susan Smith, a heart attack survivor and award-winning author, will tell her story about surviving a heart attack on a day she was too busy to be bothered. After she survived, she was determined to spread the word about heart disease.
She is a Mayo Clinic-trained WomenHeart Champion and will provide literature and answer questions.
During the two-hour event, guests can hear a brief talk about heart disease every 30 minutes. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both women and men, and many people are unaware of the signs and symptoms.
In addition to sharing her story and the lessons she learned, Susan’s books and other literature on heart health will be available. We will also offer opportunities to answer questions about the church, its history, beautiful stained-glass windows, the daffodil cross, the cemetery, and the nearby trail.
