Meet Greta: A Sweet Tabby with a Brave Heart!

Greta is a 2-year-old tabby with a kind spirit and a motor that starts the moment you reach out to pet her. She wants nothing more than to curl up beside you, soak in affection, and reward you with steady, contented purrs. At first glance, you might not notice anything unusual about this sweet girl—until you realize she’s navigating the world a little differently.

Due to a severe eye infection, Greta has lost most—if not all—of her eyesight. But Greta doesn’t see it as a limitation. She has adapted beautifully and continues to explore her surroundings with quiet confidence. Like many vision-impaired cats, she relies on her other senses and her memory to understand her environment. Once she learns a space, she will move through it with surprising ease.

Because of her vision challenges, Greta will need a patient adopter willing to give her a little time to settle in. Keeping furniture and important items in consistent places will help her build her mental map of her new home. In our experience, once visually impaired cats learn their surroundings, they will be just as confident, independent, playful, and loving as any other cat.

So far, Greta has been somewhat unsure around other cats. We believe this is more about adjusting carefully to new stimuli than an inability to coexist. With slow, thoughtful introductions and a calm environment, she would likely adapt well. We simply didn’t want to overwhelm her during her stay with us.

Could you be the one to show Greta that her best days are still ahead?
