WSU Master Gardeners of Pacific County are sponsoring a workshop, “Create a Salsa Garden” at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum at 115 SE Lake St in Ilwaco on Saturday, April 19th from  11:00am until 12:30pm.

Pacific County Master Gardeners will discuss growing vegetables needed to make salsa. Everything you need to make a delicious salsa can be grown in containers as well as in the garden. Learn best horticultural practices for growing tomatillos, tomatoes, peppers, and onions. You will plant seeds in starting trays and learn ways to use everyday items around the home as do-your-own seed starting containers. Bring your own plant containers if you prefer!

At the end of the class, you will leave with a salsa recipe, seeds planted in seed starting trays, and handouts for care of the plants as they grow.

Plant Clinic: Plant questions or problems? Come ask a Master Gardener anytime between 11:00am and 2:00pm. If possible, bring samples of your plant problem.

The workshop and plant clinic are free and open to the public. Join us for education and fun learning about growing a salsa plant garden!
