WSU Master Gardeners Foundation of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties are sponsoring a plant clinic and information center on Saturday, August 16th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum’s parking lot. The museum is located on 115 SE Lake Street in Ilwaco.
If you have questions such as:
• What are the optimum soil temperature conditions for vegetable seed germination?
• My green bean leaves have yellowish mottling of leaves, and downward curling or cupping of leaves. Does this mean that the green bean plants are dying?
• My blueberry leaves are a mottled red. What is causing this to happen?
• One of my tomato plants has gray-green, water-soaked spots that appear on the leaves, stems and fruit. What is causing this?
We can help you! We will be there to address your plant questions, concerns, and suggestions. Stop by anytime between 10 am and 2 pm. Bring samples if you can.
We are also giving informal tours of the Native Plant Garden and our own vegetable garden!
WSU Extension also supports two web sites that can help you diagnose your own plant problems.
• Hortsense (http://hortsense.cahnrs.wsu.edu/Home/HortsenseHome.aspx) – Contains fact sheets for the home gardener to manage plant problems using Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
• Pestsense (http://pestsense.cahnrs.wsu.edu/Home/PestsenseHome.aspx) – Contains fact sheets for managing common indoor pest problems using Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
