The North Coast Symphonic Band (NCSB) presents a concert of British and American music at 2:00pm on Sunday, Feb. 4th at the Liberty Theatre. The band is conducted by Terry Dahlgren of Warrenton, Oregon.

“Over the Pond and Back” is a musical journey over the Atlantic Ocean to Britain, featuring music from Vaughn Williams to the Beatles. The return trip features a tapestry of Americana, from Shenandoah to New York, New York. Fiskare String Quintet will perform prelude music starting at 1:30pm. NCSB Board President Brian Bergman will be the concert’s emcee.

Regular admission is $15. High school students are admitted free; admission for middle school students and younger is free with a paying adult. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Liberty Theatre Box Office from 2:00pm to 5:30pm, Wednesdays through Saturdays or online at Tickets will also be available at the door starting at noon the day of the concert. The Liberty Theater is located on the corner of 12th and Commercial streets in Astoria.

The North Coast Symphonic Band is composed of local musicians of all ages who enjoy networking, learning from each other, and maintaining their skill levels in a positive and supportive environment. The band is currently at full strength. To join the waiting list, contact Personnel Director Lee Stromquist at or 503-861-1328. Potential new members should be able to read music, own their own instruments, and have advanced high school level performance skills or higher. Rehearsals are from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Mondays at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts (PAC) in Astoria.
