Musical Storytime, a monthly hands-on musical instrument experience for local preschool children, will be held on Thursday, January 16th at 10:00am in the Kids Make Theatre classroom at the Liberty Theatre in Astoria in partnership with the Astoria Library and Liberty Theatre. This month’s story, Owl Babies, is a delightful children’s classic – a gentle tale of three baby owls celebrating the bond between mothers and their children. With stunning illustrations and a live accompaniment by North Oregon Coast Symphony musician Shelley Loring on flute, children and parents alike will enjoy the happy ending. Children will learn more about the flute and piccolo as Loring demonstrates her instruments. Children will be able to play a wind instrument after the story. This event is free and open to children ages 3-5 and their adults.
