Students will learn to coil build on a larger scale by creating a figurative chimnea creature. In addition to coil-building, students on the second day of class will get a chance to do a deep dive into illustrating on ceramics with underglaze.
Erika Rier is a self-taught interdisciplinary artist based in Portland, OR currently focused on ceramics and artist zines. Erika has been teaching art through a wide variety of mediums including ceramics, printmaking, and zine making over the past ten years. She shows widely in galleries in the Pacific Northwest and vends at a variety of fine craft, zine, and comics festivals up and down the west coast.
