FLASH MOB!
Astoria Stroll!

Join Astoria’s first flash mob, created by Sparrow Dance Company! Come learn the Astoria Stroll, a whimsical dance inspired by dance from the early 1900’s to be performed on August 22nd (location and time revealed to participants). All ages and families are welcome to join Astoria’s new tradition, no dance experience necessary. In 1903, composer Albert William Utsinger created the “Budget March” for the Astoria Daily Budget (now the Daily Astorian). Sparrow Dance Company choreographed the Astoria Stroll to echo the 1900’s style of the Budget March, creating a uniquely historical song and dance experience. Special thanks to the Daily Astorian, Hailey Hoffman and pianist Vincent Centeno.
