Lower Columbia Preservation Society (LCPS) Presents: a lecture series about local history and historic preservation and hosted by Lower Columbia Preservation Society.
Free and open to the public.
Local park ranger and history enthusiast, Aaron Webster tells the (mostly) true tale of George Ramsay: He was born 9 months after a local shipwreck, met Lewis and Clark, and was the only survivor of the destruction of the ship Tonquin after it founded Astoria. His life illustrates the two-sided nature of “Manifest Destiny”, a triumph for Americans and a tragedy for the tribes of the West.
