QUILT SHOW, SATURDAY, 6/28/2025, 10:00AM-4PM GRACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH SANCTUARY
ASTORIA, Or – Vintage and contemporary quilts will be shown in the historic, accessible sanctuary of Grace Episcopal Church, on Saturday, 6/28/2025, 10:00am to 4:00pm, in conjunction with the Clatsop Quilters Guild 2nd Annual Show in Warrenton. Quilting fans can extend their quilting adventure, like a pub crawl with quilts instead of drinks.
Admission to the event is free, donations are welcome! Vintage quilts, hand-made fabric gifts by crafter Dianne Blossom of Nehalem, light refreshments and lunch all will be available for purchase.
Quilt Show organizer Brenda Penner said, “Quilts bring together fabric, color, engineering, and community connection. This exhibit is to honor the quilters who brought their art to family and friends.” Several items in the Astoria show were pieced and/or hand-quilted by the late Mary Lovell, a devoted parishioner and servant of God.
Grace Episcopal Church was founded in 1854, Astoria’s first church. The quilt show will be presented in the sanctuary, where Grace Episcopal Church still worships every Sunday. The beautiful carpenter gothic building was constructed in 1885, of hand-hewn timbers. Stained glass windows soften the light, protecting fabrics and creating an atmosphere of reverence for admirers of the artistry of the quilts and of the building where they’ll be shown.
Event profits will benefit the mission and ministries of Grace Episcopal Church, including preservation of the historic building to keep it fit for purpose, as well as service to our neighbors through Grace Food Pantry and Supplemental Nutrition for Astoria Children (SNAC).
