Thanks to grant funding and support from the Oregon Cultural Trust, Roundhouse Foundation, Columbia County Cultural Coalition, and Portland Street Art Alliance, new murals are coming to downtown Clatskanie.
Over the course of June, Oregon muralists will be painting new public art throughout town, celebrating Clatskanie’s identity through themes like farming, fishing, timber history, railroad history, local flora and fauna, mushroom hunting, and life along the Columbia River.
The project will wrap up with the Clatskanie Mural Festival on Saturday, June 20, 2026, alongside the Clatskanie Farmers Market and Kids Market. Festival day will include artist talks, walking mural tours, live activities, youth vendors, face painting, rock painting, a flower arranging class, and a Paint & Sip fundraiser at the Clatskanie Food Hub.
This project is part of Portland Street Art Alliance’s rural arts initiative and brings together local artists, students, organizers, businesses, and community partners to turn underutilized spaces into points of pride.
