Clamshell Railroad Days, an annual celebration of model trains and local train histo-ry, is back at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum July 20th and 21st. The event will run from 10:00am-4:00pm both days and will feature model train layouts from a number of re-gional train clubs. Admission is $5 for the weekend and includes a commemorative button. Children under 12 are free. Proceeds go to supporting museum operations.
Layouts from a variety of regional model railroad clubs will be on display including from the Cascade Z Modelers, Mt. Rainier N Scale Club, Longview, Kelso and Rainier Model Railroad Club, Pacific Northwest On30 Modular Group and our local Peninsula Model Rail-road Club. Also on display will be a perennial favorite, Dean and Donna Mead’s LEGO Train. The Lone Wolfe Forge will also be onsite doing blacksmith demonstrations.
Timberland Regional Library will be onsite on Saturday only with a kid’s craft sta-tion. They will also hold two kid’s story times that day inside the historic Ilwaco freight depot at 1:00pm and 2:00pm. CPHM’s historic Railcar NAHCOTTA will be open for viewing Saturday and Sunday 10:00am-Noon and 2:00pm-3:30pm. If you have any questions, con-tact the museum at 360-642-3446.
