The 16th annual BizarroCon will be held in Astoria, Oregon for the first time ever.
This annual gathering of writers, artists, performers, filmmakers and general weirdos has taken place each November since 2008 at McMenamin’s Edgefield property in Troutdale. This year will be the first year that the convention is held in Astoria. The Bizarro writers of Astoria are working together with writers and artists across the country to host BizarroCon Astoria, November 7th to November 10th at several venues in Downtown Astoria including the Fort George Lovell Showroom, Salty Siren Books and the Columbian Theater.
This three day convention will include panels on bizarro in the media, bizarro fiction, marketing strategies, writing workshops, performances, readings at locations around Astoria, a Bizarro Book Pop-Up at Salty Siren Books and a bizarro film screening at the Columbian Theater on Sunday, November 10th.
Over 50 authors, publishers, fans and performers from all over the US and Canada will be attending the convention. Special Guests this year include Portland-based artist, Jim Agpalza, writer and filmmaker Bryce James McGuire, and author and screenwriter Shane McKenzie.
