Astoria High School Theatre’s presents “Fiddler on the Roof,” based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl.
Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to marry off his daughters and instill in them a sense of tradition in the face of growing anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia.
Performances take place at 6:30 p.m. on Fridays, March 1, 8 and 15, as well as Saturday, March 2. We will have two Saturday matinee performances on March 9 and 16. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children and students. Cash or check accepted. Pay at the door!
