On Saturday, April 25th the Seaside Public Library will welcome Jo Pomeroy who will be giving an artist talk on the current art show, “Chauvet Cave Art Paintings.” The show is presented in the Library foyer and Community Room. This presentation will take place at 2:00pm in the Community Room.

Pomeroy created these paintings in honor of the artists who painted in Chauvet Cave in central France at the end of the last Ice Age, about 39,000 years ago. Their paintings feature animals of that time including auroch, bison, horses, woolly rhinoceros, hump backed deer, reindeer, cave bear, lions, an owl, and others.

This talk will give Pomeroy the chance to discuss her process of cave art research as well as how she went about creating the cave art inspired pieces the community has been enjoying in March and April.
