New Exhibition ‘Taking Shape: Here and There’ to Showcase Works by Pam Greene and Christopher Belluschi at Cannon Beach Arts Association
Cannon Beach Arts Association is thrilled to announce the upcoming art exhibition “Taking Shape – Here and There” featuring the works of Pam Greene and Christopher Belluschi. The exhibition will showcase captivating artworks that explore the concept of form and space in both the familiar and abstract.
Pam Greene, known for her exquisite use of color and light will present a series of paintings that capture the essence of the ocean and the surrounding forest. With an MFA in art and design from Stanford, and an undergraduate degree in botany, she is a perpetual observer of nature’s inspiring forms. As an innovator, Greene approaches each painting as something of an experiment. She likes to be surprised as the composition emerges, and create balance with distilled, delineated shapes using brushstrokes aiming to capture nature’s spontaneity. The resulting pieces have a graphic quality with influences from many years of travel to East Asia, and study of East Asian art. Her work is represented in private collections nationally and internationally, and available through the Portland Art Museum’s Rental Sales gallery.
Christopher Belluschi is a sculptor based in Portland, Oregon. He sculpts reductively from both wood and stone and creates sculptures that are as captivating for the soul as they are for the eyes. He recently returned from six weeks of stone scouting and sculpting in Carrara, Italy. His current body of work reflects his reverence for Italian travertine, a storied, stratified stone which flaunts its bubbling formation in the primordial ooze.
The exhibition will be on display at Cannon Beach Arts Association from August 16th to September 22nd, 2024. An opening reception will be held on Friday, August 16th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, where art enthusiasts will have the chance to meet the artists, view the new collection and enjoy refreshments.
