3-Session Workshop

Take your ceramic repair techniques to the next level through the art of kintsugi. Students will learn how to use urushi lacquer, metallic powders and other materials through this painstaking (and sometimes painful) process. Sessions will include mending, filling gaps, and metallic finishes. This workshop will meet once a month for three months (allows the lacquer to cure between sessions). Bring one or more broken ceramic items you’d like to repair to the first class. Glazed stoneware or porcelain works best. Please note: urushi lacquer can cause a reaction similar to poison oak.
