We know the care and maintenance of forests have a crucial role to play in the economic and ecological life of our community and our planet. But what about forests themselves? Do forests have their own rights and identities? Are there values forests have that are outside of their significance to humans? How might we consider such values, and how might we weigh them in relation to our own needs and values?
