HOW REAL IS MEMORY?
Marcel Proust once wrote “Remembrance of things past is not necessarily the remembrance of things as they were.” And yet, it is through our memories that we come to understand what is and isn’t real. How do we discern what is real and unreal within our memories, or the memories of others? What does this slippery situation with our memories mean for our learning and understanding? And for that matter, what does “real” mean in terms of our memories?
