DESCRIPTION:The Outreach Literacy Program at Clatsop Community College is h
 olding a volunteer tutoring meeting on Thursday\, August 29th\, from 1:00p
 m to 3:00pm in Columbia Hall\, room 219. Come learn about our students and
  why and how they study with us. We serve adult students\, age 16 and up\,
  who are learning English as a Second Language or studying to pass their G
 ED exams. We have many students with limited time to study and flexible vo
 lunteers can fill a need that scheduled classes cannot. The literacy coord
 inator can place volunteers in-person or through zoom tutoring. Speaking a
 nother language is not necessary. Volunteers who are patient\, listen well
  and understand that students learn in different ways make the best tutors
 . Training and materials are provided. Tutoring is rewarding\, helps build
  community and gives underserved students an enhanced chance of success. P
