SUMMARY:Uncovering and Mainstreaming Chinese American History in Oregon
DESCRIPTION:Recent scholarship and public-facing projects have made strides
  in placing Chinese Americans within broader narratives of Oregon's histor
 y. This free presentation on July 26th at Obelisk Brewery at 6:00pm offers
  a glimpse into some of the wide-ranging projects\, including those led by
  the Oregon Chinese Diaspora Project\, that have helped broaden our unders
 tanding of Oregon's past.\nThis program is presented in collaboration with
  the Oregon Chinese Diaspora Project\, Oregon Historical Society\, Souther
 n Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology\, and Obelisk Beer Company.
 \nJennifer Fang is a historian\, curator\, community worker\, and second-g
 eneration Chinese American. She is the Director of Exhibitions at the Wing
  Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience in Seattle. She gues
 t co-edited the Winter 2021 special issue of the Oregon Historical Quarter
 ly on Oregon’s Chinese Diaspora. Her research and writing have been publ
 ished in the Journal of American Ethnic History and the Oregon Historical 
 Quarterly. She currently serves as historical advisor to the Oregon Chines
 e Diaspora Project\, on the editorial board of the Oregon Historical Quart
 erly\, and the board of directors of the Western Museums Association.\nFor
