On Saturday, October 10th 2026 the Seaside Public Library will welcome Gary Hayes for a presentation called, “The Ten Most Pivotal Moments in Oregon Coast History” based on his book, “Historic Tales of the Oregon Coast.” This event will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room and there will be a time afterwards for a Q&A. This event is made possible by the generous support of the Seaside Library Friends & Foundation.
This engaging program examines the most consequential global, national and regional events, along with technological advances that significantly changed the trajectory of the course of Oregon Coast history. The presentation is filled with historic images illustrating the more than 200 transformative years when the Oregon Coast went from an unknown spot on the map to becoming one of the world’s greatest scenic wonderlands.
