SUMMARY:The Taming
DESCRIPTION:Ten Fifteen Productions pivots once again with The Taming.\nAst
oria\, OR - Ten Fifteen Productions is once again proving its agility sinc
e a storm caused significant damage to its Astoria Odd Fellows building ho
me last December. Due to a number of outside factors\, the theater will be
reopening with a different production than planned. Theatre enthusiasts s
hould mark their calendars for May 29th for opening night of The Taming by
Lauren Gunderson. Director Katherine Lacaze leads a powerhouse cast and c
rew in this political farce that takes the place of the originally schedul
ed production of Sensitive Guys.\nIn an email to patrons\, executive artis
tic director\, Danyelle Tinker\, stated “Changing scripts after the seas
on has been planned and announced is not something I did lightly\; but fea
r you not\, dear friends\, as the new show promises to be the hilarious re
set we all need right now. The Taming is a laugh-a-minute while still touc
hing on some important topics facing our country and government. Frankly\,
if I had read this script a year ago\, it would have been a planned part
of the season to begin with.”\nAbout the show:\nTweetering\, panda shrew
s\, and undying giddiness for James Madison – what else could you expect
to find at a Miss America pageant? In this hilarious\, raucous\, all-fema
le “power-play” inspired by Shakespeare‘s Shrew\, contestant Katheri
ne has political aspirations to match her beauty pageant ambitions. All sh
e needs to revolutionize the American government is the help of one ultra-
conservative senator‘s aide on the cusp of a career breakthrough\, and o
ne bleeding-heart liberal blogger who will do anything for her cause. Well
\, that and a semi-historically-accurate ether trip. Here‘s lookin‘ at
  you\, America.\nCast:\nKatherine: Holly Marsh\nPatricia: Cyndi Fisher\nBi
