On Saturday, August 15th, 2026 the Seaside Public Library will welcome Ashland based author Sue DeMarinis for a talk on their historical fiction book, “The Station Master’s Wife.” This event will take place at 2:00pm in the Community Room and there will be a time afterwards for a Q&A and to purchase a copy of the book. This event is made possible by the generous support of the Seaside Library Friends & Foundation.
“The Station Master’s Wife” is a historical fiction novel set from the 1860s through the 1920s as the Transcontinental Railroad brought scandals with it as it moved West. Set in a small isolated Southern Oregon town, the SFO Bay area and the Oregon Coast, the book follows Alice, a daughter of a prominent pioneer family, as she goes through changes and events never expected and meets a variety of unsavory characters who come through on the rails.
